At the Ta’Vaalor OOC meeting GMs were asked if Festival of the Fallen would be returning again this year. The GMs were not able to confirm the festival’s return and I was hoping to add my two cents in hopes to see its return. When the festival was first released in 2015 players were told it would possibly be happening every other year. Two years ago Ta’Vaalor had the festival and I personally felt it was a huge success. There were more people and RP at this event than at its inception. With so many new paid events being released it would be quite disheartening to see Simutronics moving away from doing free events that seem more focused on the roleplay rather than the services, Festival of the Fallen is no exception. Not only is it an event focused on honoring those fallen in battle, but I’m also pretty sure it’s the only GM sanctioned CvC event where the winner gets a unique title.
It’s rather nice seeing the crowds and players it brings to Ta’Vaalor. Vaalor doesn’t generally have a large population compared to Landing or other places, so for this weekend people from all around get to experience the RP Vaalor has to offer, and in return, it brings new people that we generally don’t get to RP in Vaalor with otherwise.
