a silk-lined leather pouch 02/12/2011 03:34 PM CST
Can we possibly get the messaging expanded? And possibly more uniform? One time it's shortened into a leather pouch, another it's the full name.

First:
>put cry in pouch
You slip a blue crystal into the right compartment of the leather pouch.
Third:
XXX puts a blue crystal in a silk-lined leather pouch.
First:
>get crystal
You remove a blue crystal from the right compartment in a silk-lined leather pouch.
Third:
XXX removes a blue crystal from a silk-lined leather pouch.

It seems a waste to have detailed messaging from the first person perspective, but not for the third.

Its to do with some of the description being included in the article "a silk-lined/leather/pouch".

Leather pouch is the full name. silk-lined is part of the article and gets dropped whenever messaging doesn't use the article field on an item.

So in order to use "the" "silk-lined" has to be dropped as well as "a".

If it is messaging that is peculiar to that item, it could be changed to use "a silk-lined" rather than "the", but if it is generic to a whole lot of items you are likely to be stuck with it because swapping "the" for the article field on other items might break the way they looked.

If thats standard messaging rather than a scripted verb trap unique to the item, you are stuck with it unless you change the 15/15/15 to something else e.g. "a/silk-lined/leather-pouch" which will create problems as a result of using leather in the noun. The adjective should be "silk-lined leather" to do what you want but thats too long, and you get broken looks in places as a result of moving one or other part of it elsewhere in the 15/15/15.

It also makes perfect sense as is. One would not likely be able to see into someone else's pouch and determine that they were selecting an internal compartment into which to place an item.

Can you specify a particular compartment of the pouch? For example, "put my gold ring in right compartment in my pouch."

>l in my po
In the leather pouch you see a domed signet ring in its right compartment and a small piece of paper, a copper wax stick and a piece of white paper in its left compartment.
>>get ring in right compartment
You remove a domed signet ring from the right compartment in a silk-lined leather pouch.
>put ring in left compartment
You slip a domed signet ring into the left compartment of the leather pouch.
