Maybe just for fluff scripts, not combat related, or maybe rare services for combat related too, but it'd be nice to get a merchant to come along who'd put a chain on a ring and make it a necklace, or turn an earring into a pair of earrings, or something like that.

Obviously there's a game balance issue here for mechanical stuff, but for fluff scripts, should be doable?
