I just wanted to share some post-Ebon Gate Interesting Statistics...
31 GMs had some part in the making of EG. Either from QC, Creation, Approval, Roleplaying, etc.
65 Customizations have already passed through QC
553 Unique Items were created for Games, Trove, and Raffles
32 Shops were refreshed
12 New Shops were created
4 New Shop Items were created
36 Storyline/Quest scripts were created
6 System Scripts were updated for Storylines/Quests
5 Momentos were created
2 Eve of Reunion items (ichor green substance and wooden picture box)
4 New Bracelet Scripts
1 Bracelet Script heavily overhauled
26 Updates were done to the grounds
36 NPCs were updated

349 Hours of Merchanting was done over the entire event (this does not include some raffle deliveries, customization correspondences, etc) (90 in Platinum, 259 in Prime)

Thanks for all the effort! I really enjoyed EG this year. I don't usually get involved in storylines but I couldn't miss the ending and I am glad I didn't. It was a great experience for me.

I spent 7500 simucoins on a service pass, 3x games pass, and a shopping pass.
I spent 20,000 simucoins on 200 Trick or Treat entries
Total investment $247.50
I spent at least 8.8 million on mini games and 6.9 million on digging so roughly 15 million silvers
I spent combined 18 hours playing mini games
I spent combined 28 hours digging at 30s average
I spent combined 24 hours trick or treating
What I got out of it
4000ish favor for a half functioning bracelet because unfortunately my character doesn't worship one of the cool gods
I had four services all GALD
One alteration
two items lightened
Another alteration to fix my first alteration (some bits were left off the show description)
won one raffle for a signature verb
I found a disruption flare token (my only T5 prize) and it cost me 9433 seashells to add the flare to my armor
I have around 39k seashells for next year because frankly after buying a few utility items I couldn't think of anything else I wanted.
200 candies
186 baubles
14 eel etched raffle tokens
trove wins = 0
and the fact that 8 invitations remained in prime after the entire event was just dissapointing. I really thought 200 tot entries would have netted an invitation but alas..
Overall feedback:
I'm not happy with the ROI or the event in general the tedium and repetitiveness of the whole affair was mind numbing but it seemed like the only way to have odds at getting some kind of return from my investment of time and money. It wasn't so bad when you had a shot at getting some useful items in the games but now its just all seashells.
What I was happy with: – I really liked the of the cloth line and the fact that certificates were available to unlock all the tiers. I really get frustrated when items are released without any means to unlock tiers outside of limited random merchant selection (ie bag of trixx).
I enjoyed the fishing, but I do wish that there was a bait shop down there.
I appreciate the amount of effort that went into all the quests I enjoyed the RP associated with events leading up to the opening of the ebon gate but things petered out afterward for me at least. There were so many NPCs and so many running stories it was hard to get involved with any one thing my head was spinning I chalked that up to only having only been at the first CI EG and the last one so I’m skipping any judgement here beyond the fact that the bracelets being only transferable to a few select gods was a bad call IMHO it would have been better to make three versions one for light dark and twilight and call it a day. Maybe then offer verbs that could cycle through each deity in those pantheons with a couple specific ambientes and the rest general messaging.
Some suggestions:
First let get a couple of chips off my shoulders-
Please finish mining and smelting – not at all related but RSN was so many years ago and I’m a firm believer in keeping hope alive.
Second Please don’t have auction reserves in this game its just a really sad feeling to be at an auction only to know that you don’t have a chance in Lornon at getting an item (the whole keeping hope alive thing) let the market decide the value of the items. Again, not related this happened at DR.
Ok EG specific suggestions:
I didn’t really care for the event invitation idea. I care for it even less since it was perfectly ok with everyone that they all didn’t go out and there wasn’t some alternate distribution method for those.
The baubles were a little annoying to process not so bad when you only need 1000 favor but when you need 4000 it was a pain… again I missed three years of EG so that one is on me, there should be an alternate method to dispose of them.
Only ten items going out in the trove was disappointing as well considering there were leftovers from the Invitation only event.
The candy is a puzzle can you just unwrap it and you get x prize from the simustore please.
I like that we got experience from ToT but having to fight undead when you need a bless is a pain can you make the cleric give out blessings also please.
Please bring back forging materials to EG like blocks of wood and the slab generator as well as new forging specific inventory the same stuff has been at nearly every event for years now.

my stats i did about 12 books in tot did not find an invite
in games i did 466526 games 31 t5's 1 magma token first night (no other jackpots) Beldannon had 1 t5 total in 64k games and 4400 digs.
in digging i did 45992 digs and 8 t5's 0 jackpots
so total 512518 games/digging 39 t5's 1 sort of jackpot first day.
5 service passes and like 21 game passes.
Got one jackpot spin for the 250k seashells with 3 people there. 4 of the 10 items were worth the 250k seashells but i did get picked on an alt so that was cool.
Did lots and lots and lots of fishing on 3 people and not sure stats there but was fun.

For what it's worth, I thought the Invitation system was great!
Wyrom had stated before ToT even started that the chances were 1 in 2500 for an invite so putting, say, 200 ToT runs in wasn't very likely to get anyone an invitation. It'd have been a lot worse if all the invitations had gone out before the event happened since that was a primary draw for ToT.
I LOVED the fact that the Trove had only 1 item per day and the items were things people actually might want (more than just a passing interest 'want'). No, they weren't mechanically amazing...but they were still pretty nice. Please use this system again. Everyone I personally know really liked this version of how it ran, especially compared to last year's version.
I did miss the extra experience from last year's ToT. Last year's was over the top, I agree...but maybe it could be 50 instead of 100 (last year's) compared to the 25 from this year. I'd have run ToT more if the exp reward was more interesting.

That equates to 6.15 minutes per customer!
My merchants offered GALD. I'd say 90% of the requests from people this year were to alter clothing items. Weapon and armor alterations were relatively low in demand. Only 1% were lightening or deepening. Overall I was pleased with my sessions. Most times someone offered to pay for everyone which makes things easier. Everyone was cooperative when I had to decline some ideas. Thanks for that!

EG 2018 was my first EG on staff.
Here are the amount of hours it took me to make the initial version of each shop. Refreshing any of these shops takes me about 4 hours on average.
The Pleco - 12 hrs
Twilight Tobaccos & Pipes - 11 hrs
Tranquility Plaza - 6 hrs
The Pleco was inspired by an idea GM Annanasi had for another event involving Kikthuum submersibles. I kind of ran with it and even went so far as to write up documentation for the Kikthuum Clan of dwarves. The portrait in the control room of The Pleco is of Bastique's wife who is back home at Lake Jostallim.
Twilight Tobaccos & Pipes was inspired by another game I played and would have fit perfectly in that setting as well. It sells things that I loved as a player, notably the pipes/tobaccos and the lanterns. There was no NPC but I imagine it was a bored teenager left to look after a relatively low-key shop.
Tranquility Plaza had some other names that did not make the cut. Third Eye Monk Supply, Monk Ki Business, and Ki to Success. No NPC here either but I imagined it to be an elderly man who swept up but was really a Master of the Quivering Palm of Death.
I played Langa the Lobster Lady in 2018. She was originally a half-lobster/half-lady character for the Carnival of Freaks but lost out to Ziito the Knife Thrower.
I was responsible for creating the Jangling Junker (including ambients) and painting the Fishing Jetty (including ambients).
While I'm sad to see Caligos go, it will always bring me good memories of my early GM days. I can't say enough how impressed I have been with it from a creative point of view. Thandiwe, Haliste, and everyone else involved have been inspirational and wonderful to work with!

I noticed this last night when I was at the bluerock chatting with folks. Nicely done. Looking forward to seeing the other clans fleshed out as well. The year of the dwarf is upon us 5122 is the dawning of a new age for dwarves. I'm thinking a nice big fat astroid hits elanthia forcing everyone underground to Zul Logoth.... I mean, it could happen.

All I bought was a services pass and I felt like I made out pretty good, but then again I never farm events for horseycash or bloodmoney or clamshells.
