Re: HESS Requests - February 2022 09/04/2021 10:17 PM CDT
<I think the happy medium would be to sell "reforging certificates" at a relatively low cost (25k-ish?) that would permit a blacksmith to attempt to turn a weapon into a perfect at the standard forging rate (10%?). A failure would mean no change to the weapon, but a success would turn it into a perfect. >

I like the thought process on this, even though I didn't think there'd be any ideas that would make me come around to being agreeable to this sort of thing.

Honestly, if there was only a standard chance of success at converting a weapon to a perfect, I wouldn't touch someone else's weapon with a 100 foot pole no matter how much they assured me they understood (and I certainly couldn't bring myself to charge for it). Instead, make two items, instead of one: one to allow a forging master to convert any old weapon into an elegant/well-made weapon and a second to let a master move the quality of a player-forged weapon up one level (well-made>superior>perfect, could even split this into 2 different items if they wanted to).

As far as price, 25k is about where you can easily sell an unmodified perfect of the rarest metal... so cost move a weapon from superior to perfect would have to be at that level or higher to prevent me from going into my lockers and converting the well-made/superior golvern/eonake/etc weapons I have stored there, flooding the market.

You wouldn't do that if you only had a 10% chance to succeed though. The implied cost, with expected value is 250k.

I don't care how far above 25k they were made, I'm just saying that I wouldn't wanna see it lower then that. With the types of weapons these are being requested for, the owners would pay whatever anyway....

Conversion to a perfect weapon is something that should become available to a forger who has mastered all of the weapon types. Lots of ways to approach it: Require a cert of some kind. Require another resource (like enchanting) that comes from forging. Apply a #/time period limit (ala lock mastery lockpick restoration).

And another Spellbound and/or HESS request: Curse-In-Your-Pocket. If you want to make it of limited utility, have it use ingredients (like the pylons, with elemental essences).

Casts one of each stance's Curse (for which you have an ingredient loaded), all at the same target.

.

OR, if it uses charges/X-per-day: Casts one of each stance's Curse that you have activated, using one charge apiece. (Comes with a BUNCH of charges... but also buttons/toggles/switches/settings that you can use to DE-activate some number of them. You MUST keep at least one [1] activated.)

All the armor scripts that will be a yr old. I think mana, animalistic, elven all will be at that point? Any others too. Options are always good.

I'm also asking for more non-armor/weapon things in the HESS again. The Phoenix was good, but we need more stuff like that. I've been wanting an animated cauldron forever and since Mania seems to be well beyond such small items (with the rare exceptions of stunning skulls, drake falchions, and brownie pans), maybe it could go back in the HESS where it originally came from, please?

- Blink. It's been a long time. I think it's safe to bring Blink back.

Thanks for listening!

Do you mean a cert that would allow you to add the morphing jewelry script to an existing item? If so, I would love this.

With the pending Bless (Sanctify) and Bard Review (Luck). I would like to request the addition of certificates in HESS that would let us add Services to our items, with likely more profession services to follow. I would like to request the addition of profession service certs in HESS. Many of us made our weapons before these services were revealed and now it is "too late" for us to put these services on our item, but alot of us wouldn't mind a bloodscrip option. Admittedly neither one of these is released yet but I thought I could atleast make a request to see if this was even a possible.

If one was made available. They could be combined with the Enchanting Certificate and simply renamed "Profession Service Certificate", if staff feels the pricing was appropriate..as many of these services are only 5 tiers while enchanting goes up to 50. If it is deemed appropriate for some of the other services to have a price increase because of the tier diffrence, I am certainly open to that, others may be as well.

Thank you for listening....I feel I rambled on a bit.

I suspect that staff already knows my feelings on this, because I've been a broken record at times (sorry), but I would like to add my support for profession certs. Alternatively I think that allowing Spellbound potions to stack would pair very well with the suggestion that players will be able to save up resources over time (allowing for two choices - bloodscrip or time).

Agreed, both adding Profession Service Certs and/or letting difficulty potions stack would be a welcome addition to HESS/Spellbound.

For the sake of those who don't follow Discord and might not know what he's referencing, basically dev has plans for a future setup where characters can store additional energy/essence/etc. above and beyond what would normally be needed to work on the item, then use it as a means of getting extra bonus for their profession service. Example:

Estild — Yesterday at 7:59 PM
Our goal with the "profession resource saving" mechanic is that no item is ever impossible (unless it is just outright intended to block said service - e.g. enchanting kroderine). Otherwise, with enough time, you should be able to save up enough resource to overcome any difficulty. As a specific example, this includes working on claidhmores. But expect that to takes years from multiple professions to work on.

Re: HESS Requests - February 2022 09/25/2021 04:36 AM CDT
Both the sigil staff (what you listed) and the mana-infused armor (what pairs with it) have been in the "limited quantity" HESS shop these two runs in 2021.
In February, they were in first-come/first-served piles; in August, they were in the spinner room.

.

Note that adding the "Dramatic Drapery" (third piece of that set) script to headgear would be a good addition, too....

Ooo, I thought of another one:

- Swap bane boost type, e.g. from crit weighting to attack strength.

Currently bane boost type is chosen when a bane cert is applied. It would be nice if there were a way to remake this choice short of buying a new bane cert.

Please add water flares (the crush kind introduced at EG a few years ago) as one of the options for the uncommon or rare flare certs, especially since Fatal Afflares even offers customization for them. :D

Ironwright flare type change certs would also be nice, what with Ironwright being redesigned right now along with the other blessing changes. (Not sure if that's even an HESS type request or more for a standard Ironwright shop that just happens to have certs, but hey, whatever gets it there!)

Would be nice to add multiple fusion slots in one go rather than taking a couple of years to get to +6.

I would run arena day and night for:

an animated cauldron

Dhyne armor script cert

Would also love to see these return (maybe with rolaren!?):

a pair of supple black leather golvern-buckled gloves - 5x, GRAPPLE flares, scripted
a pair of glossy black leather golvern-toed boots - 5x, GRAPPLE flares, scripted

Thank you for considering

PS: Adding an extra 100 difficulty on top of the 100 difficulty for flares is insane when it comes to realm weapons.

Change the Resistance Certs from +5% to +10%, if this has to be a "hard limit" per item per run, fine. (IE: you can only add two certs per run, so +20% per a single Duskruin Run, cant pay surcharges to do more.)

In February we had (limited) shape-morphing for Enhancive items, and Premium already has some access to Enhancive swapping.

I would like the (HESS) opportunity to do it on a ticket-based request/implementation queue, rather than having to wait for a timely presence + lucky win to happen upon the capability.
