Updated spirit type/nouns for Animalistic Spirit items 08/03/2021 04:52 PM CDT
Though the total amount of new spirit nouns debuting at Duskruin this run isn't very large, there are still quite a few new additions. Please do not be discouraged if your suggestion did not make it in this time - it doesn't mean it will never be a possibility, it's just that I did not have time to add all of them in for this run.

The only brand new "spirit type" being added this year is "Avian (Magical)", which includes the "phoenix" noun that many people requested! Other additions are new noun possibilities for some of the existing spirit types.

Following is an updated list of all spirit types, approved nouns, and "defaults" for Animalistic Spirit items. All items within the Animalistic Spirit set use the same lists, but each one has its own certificate for changing spirit types for that particular item; be sure you have the correct certificate, which will be sold within the shop selling the item it applies to.

As usual, I should be scheduling some Wilkes visits in September to hopefully do some spirit alterations for those who want that service.

NOTES:
* The noun at the beginning of each list is the "default" noun for that spirit type. When an item is changed to that spirit type, this noun is the default that will appear.

Just a point of an FYI, cheetahs are more related to small felines than large felines. They hiss, purr, etc. like the small cats do, and actually don't roar like the large cats.

Yep! I definitely know that, though in size they are closer to a large feline than a small one, hence the category.

Note the default values for everything listed are keyed more for the "default" noun for each category, in this case the "lion". If someone were to alter their spirit with me to have a cheetah instead, I'd suggest to them to switch the spirit noise away from the default to something else entirely to match the actual creature, as, yeah, cheetahs don't really roar. (This is a major reason why the changing of nouns requires a face to face merchant interaction, so that any differences can be worked out with the player so they don't end up with a roaring cheetah and I don't have to hard-code so much into the script trying to find every exception. Heh.)

I actually have a Biology degree IRL and trying to find categories to group some of these so it'll soothe my scientific heart while being easier on me coding is difficult sometimes, to be sure.

Cool cool. (I can appreciate the difficulty of getting things to match categories while soothing scientific hearts! :D )

I notice a distinct lack of warfly on this list.

Need a Sparrow and Swan added to this list. Maybe an Aivren and Wyvern too. Plus a super expensive Drake option.

As I gaze over the horizon, the wind tugs at my cloak and whispers, "Adventure" in my ear.

A squeaky halfling nearby asks, "Why you playing with orcs heads and troll rearends?!"

+1 for the wyvern and drake even though I don't think it'd happen.

Sparrow and swan are possible.

Wyvern and drake ... I think those fall under the same as "unicorns" in that they're either mythical or extinct/not existing in Elanthia anymore. Which makes them ineleigible, as they do not have spirits to imbue into the items.

A two-handed sword would be excellent for OTS animalistic selections. I know you can add animalistic to anything but that is very expensive, I would love to have it as a base that I could build on
