In the indigo oilcloth case:
other (1): swan-necked zebrawood lute.
>l case

Supported by a framework of sturdy oak, the case is lined with cushioning fleece and swaddled in indigo oilcloth. The glossy texture of the fabric bespeaks years of handling and constant oiling, which has created a weather-resistant finish that allows water to bead up and roll off the case. Embossed swans decorate the lid, while a series of ivory toggles carved into the semblance of feathers decoratively encircles the opening.

>l lute

Crafted of zebrawood, the lute's back is comprised of twelve deeply fluted, double-curved ribs that are artistically wedded to each other and preserved beneath a lustrous veneer. Offering contrast to the dark wood of the body, a piece of cypress has been used to create the long neck, with its sharply angled pegboard, the heel, and pegs. A flat and smooth soundboard of polished spruce proudly displays the dark bands of its year-rings, while a decorative window is carved to resemble plumed birds.

>get lute
You gently remove a swan-necked zebrawood lute from the protection of its case.

>close case
You carefully pull the flap of your indigo oilcloth case closed, and fasten each of its buttons securely.

>open case
With nimble fingers, you unfasten each of the buttons holding your indigo oilcloth case closed, and draw the flap open.

>pluck lute
You pluck the strings of your lute, carefully checking the tone.
The string makes an off key sound as you release it.

>tap lute
Using your thumb and pinky, you gently tap out a light staccato upon the soundboard of your zebrawood lute. Finding the rhythm pleasing, you allow your foot to take up the beat and then artistically embellish upon your tapping to create a lively, rhythmic tune that echoes robustly through the belly of your instrument.
