20 minutes in jail! 07/29/2014 12:26 PM CDT

This is a STUPID amount of time to spend in jail for a miscast of a spell outside the city gates of Ta'vaalor.

[Ta'Vaalor, Victory Bridge]
Gracefully arcing above the murky depths of the Mistydeep River, the bridge's limestone blocks are so tightly fitted that seams are nearly invisible. Thick bunches of rushes crowd the riverbank, as the chirping and whirring of insects hums through the air.
Obvious paths: northeast, southwest

You change your tune slightly, adding the element for Song of Sonic Disruption to your song...
Your spellsong is ready.

[ego2: travel time: 0:17:17]
--- Lich: ego2 has exited.
You weave another verse into your harmony.

A sharp voice from the crowd echoes, "Endangering public safety! Endangering public safety! Someone call for the Guard Captain!"

Sing Roundtime 3 Seconds.

The judge studies you carefully, then motions toward a nearby guardsman who fiercely proclaims, "Galenblackbard stands accused of the following crimes..."

The guardsman says, "Galenblackbard is charged with 1 count of endangering public safety. This 1 crime carries a total fine of 19600 silvers."

The judge glances at you and declares, "You know...If I have to deal with one more lowly adventurer today.. just ONE MORE.. I'm going to--" He blinks at you, eyeing you up and down. "Oh, bloody rolton guts! You thought you could get away with it, huh? That'll teach you we don't play around in Ta'Vaalor."

He continues, "Due to the fact you have a very recent criminal history with fines involved, we'll just fine you again, along with a ten percent penalty.
He coninues, "Your total fine is 21560 silvers. We're going to apply that as a debt that you can pay off anytime, and we're going to stick you in prison for a while. That should show you that crime doesn't pay!"

A number of burly guards come in, set you in some manacles, and drag you away. You are taken to a small wagon and set in the back under guard. After a short ride, the wagon stops and you are escorted into the local prison. Soon, you find yourself locked in a cell to serve your sentence.

20 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the time sink and waste.

Well done.

I believe that is the minimum time for any crime that you choose jail over the fine. Usually the fine for those crimes is small unless you killed someone with it.
