recently had a chance to try out a sliver/shard making boxes (the ones that use slabs) and noticed the following;

shards(daggers) weigh less than 2lbs (1lb) as most daggers do

slivers(darts) weigh 2lbs (twice a dagger)


found this strange for some reason.
