Questions about MnE and MnS CS 11/03/2016 09:30 AM CDT
I came across this post on the wiki. https://gswiki.play.net/Hybrid_casting_changes_(saved_post) . I was away during this change and never got the memo. Can someone tell me how this is calculated?

Lets says I was level 70 and have 100 sorcerer, 40 MnE and 40 MnS and I want to cast 415. Are my sorcerer and MnS spells basically counted as the primary circle for the spell? If so, are they still counted as the primary circle over my level? Meaning would I basically have 180 ranks in the primary circle when casting 415?

If you're casting 415 mnE spells are the primary , and mnS and sorc are the secondarys.

Can I get a GM to chime in on this please. I understand what the wiki says but that post seems to contradict what the wiki says for calculating CS.

Years ago spells that were outside the sphere of influence of the spell you were trying to cast counted less towards your CS then those in the same sphere of influence (so, if you were casting 415, the minor spirit spells you knew would count half, for example, what the major elemental spells would count for a wizard). The update mentioned in that post made the minor spirit circle count the same for the sorcerer as the major elemental does for the wizard.

So long as you go by the formulae in the Casting Strength article, you don't need to worry about what the saved post says. It's really just there for historical reasons.
