Well I read about ensorcell and just had to check in ... 01/31/2014 08:26 AM CST

Many moons ago, many times have we revolved about the sun since I was last here.
Not sure I'm going to stay .. but in the dim and distant past, I'm sure I suggested Balefire and Ensorcell ... though memory fades and I just might be wrong.
I recognise a couple of names here still ... Heathyr, Aspen (Virilneus?), Kilshaar ...

I tested out balefire on some orcs, they enjoyed it. Well I did.

Wonder what else has changed...

Along with adding balefire they moved nightmare to be part of curse and added a new curse, star curse, that adds to bolt AS. http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/715#Star_Curse They also made most spell durations uniform at a 20 minute base and +1 minute per spell in the circle as well as some other neat and useful features. http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/MANA_%28saved_post%29 You mentioned ensorcell which you can also find on KP, there is also a guide written by Dergoatain which is linked at the bottom. http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/735 There is also alchemy, it can be used to make things but it is a very time consuming and silver draining to master it. http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Alchemy and http://www.virilneus.com/recipes/ I think that is it for sorcerers but I am sure if I missed something someone else will mention it. As far as other classes we've had monks released and a bunch of other things for existing professions.

Welcome back, I do hope you can still find ways to enjoy the game and stick around.

The State of Sorcery is strong!

Hell, I'd say our class is just about rounded and complete, minus a few things like the debacle that is illusion training and the ongoing lunacy of other classes having spells similar to Dark Catalyst, but far more widely applicable (I get really nostalgic when I hunt with 317 on my cleric).

You should come back and play for a month, see if you have fun.

speaking of old DC, this happened the other day in the Dwarven Den:

A huge jagged earth golem swings a massive arm at you!
AS: +405 vs DS: +749 with AvD: +42 + d100 roll: +96 = -206
A clean miss.

You trace an intricate sign that contorts in the air while forcefully invoking Dark Catalyst...
Your spell is ready.
You gesture at a huge jagged earth golem.
CS: +538 - TD: +416 + CvA: +25 + d100: +88 == +235
Warding failed!
... and hits for 47 points of damage!
A huge jagged earth golem is suddenly engulfed in flames of pure essence!
... 25 points of damage!
Left hand fried to a crisp. Think barbecue sauce.
... 35 points of damage!
An icy slash across the lower back slices deep into the jagged earth golem's muscle!
... 75 points of damage!
Surprisingly large electrical arc destroys neck and moves up around head making a flashy halo. Rather classical death occurs.
... 45 points of damage!
Every bone in the right arm shattered and scattered about!
You feel 16 mana surge into you!

* Necrotic energy from your silvery lor staff overflows into you! *

RANK 5 LEFT HAND, FIRE, Damage: 8 Status Effect: Stunned 2 Rounds, Wounds: Rank 2
RANK 7 BACK, COLD, Damage: 30 Status Effect: Stunned 8 Rounds, Wounds: Rank 3
RANK 9 NECK, LIGHTNING, Damage: 40 Status Effect: FATAL, Wounds: Rank 3
RANK 9 RIGHT ARM, IMPACT, Damage: 40 Status Effect: Stunned 10 Rounds, Wounds: Rank 3 (Amputate)
You feel energized!
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

Nice. Wish we could see that with regularity as a function of extensive mana control training, or see an increase to the benefit provided by elemental lores as well as allowing channeling to increase the concussion damage with phantom endroll bonuses. In short - would be nice to see Dark Catalyst returned to it's rightful place as the most powerful single-target warding spell in the game, instead of taking back seat to Wither, 317 and Immolation, spells belonging to classes with massive physical AS bonuses, alternate forms of learning, and significantly more useful mass attack spells. OP doesn't exist anymore - every class is OP. Give us DC back.
