Hi just came back! Looking at my ranger 02/28/2017 09:22 AM CST
Hi, just came back after multiple year hiatus. Don't remember much, but re-learning fairly quickly.

Was hoping I could get some wisdom regarding training. If I recall correctly, and I might be wrong, but ranger builds are pretty open. Here's what we're working with

I'm wondering where to go from here. The obvious big things I want are 120 and probably 130. As you can see, I have free points available for this pursuit.

Hunting as of right now is easy. Generally, I target seekers and their friends at the top of the world in Pinefar. 610, 616, and 635 are disgustingly effective right now. Shit blows up left and right, and I'm really happy with it. Bolt AS is strong and AIMing is accurate and lethal. Truth be told, life is really good. Spells make bandits totally manageable as well, which is swell.

I literally have no idea what's to come after this, though. I was considering just keeping things as is and dumping extra points into the 100s. Is this viable, or will lack of 2x ambush and 0x combat maneuvers prove awful in the near future?

I have a fixskills available, obviously, so there's definitely freedom in the near future.

Thanks for your help. I know these kinds of posts are frequent and annoying, and I did read a lot of other threads. I note that almost nobody keeps Ranger at 1x while leveling.

Are we good? Am I going to walk into a 60 hunting zone and get slaughtered? WILL IT MATTER? WHO KNOWS :O

Your build is a very standard and solid sniper archer build, and you don't need to do anything differently. If you want 120 more quickly, though, you can drop ranger ranks to 640 and get 120 at level 60 or such. Alternately, if you find you're not really sniping, then you can drop Hiding and use those points to help boost the 100s.

Your training is very similar to my open archer ranger. I have Combat Manuevers and MOC (for defense) where you have Ambush and Stalking and Hiding. I think your training looks fine. I prioritized getting 120 over more Dodge or more Ranger spells. Here's my training at 43 for comparison:

Skill Name | Current Current
| Bonus Ranks
Armor Use..........................| 120 30
Combat Maneuvers...................| 148 48
Ranged Weapons.....................| 190 90
Multi Opponent Combat..............| 50 10
Physical Fitness...................| 145 45
Dodging............................| 145 45
Harness Power......................| 143 43
Survival...........................| 145 45
Perception.........................| 190 90
Climbing...........................| 145 45
Swimming...........................| 145 45
First Aid..........................| 145 45

Spell Lists
Minor Spiritual....................| 20

Spell Lists
Ranger.............................| 30

Thanks so much your your replies.

I'll leave things as they are for now and not worry about it unless an issue pops up.

Thanks again!
