We could double in shields and costs us a lot more why don't we have access to shield maneuvers and stance?

Combat, Shield, and Armor maneuvers/specializations are pretty much spell lists for Squares. There's some carry over (just as Warriors and Rogues can learn some spells), but in general, you should not expect to have access to everything they have, just as they should not expect to have access to the Ranger spell circle.

Read as: We like paladins better.

Keith/Brinret/Shiun

Brinret says, "Bring it on."
A bolt of lightning streaks down from the sky and strikes Brinret!
... 16428101 points of damage!
Powerful blast reduces Brinret to a smoldering pile of ash!

we already can't double lore like paladins and bards! bards could double miu and arcane symbols too!! we need a ranger guru!

Yes paladins are more magical and more physical than rangers.

I have to agree if shield cmans is the squares spells then the choice to only give it to one semi is pretty weak.

Shields maneuvers
Armor abilities
Better CMANs
2x spirital lores
Lower or equal TP costs for all relevant magical skills except spell research
Almost across the board lower physical skill TP costs
Spell list that was created AND received a full revamp since the last time rangers or bards got any significant dev attention
The most overpowered defensive spell in the game - 1635

It's pretty obvious which semi profession the current dev team prefers by a wide margin. The only complaint paladins seem to have at this point is that they are so overpowered they're kinda boring to play.

While I do agree with most points here, (or at least don't dispute it becaues I haven't honestly compared the two) I will say that the work Keios has done for companions/swinging weapons, etc, has been pretty significant.

And yet I haven't seen a paladin with the title of Hero from the Duskruin arena yet while many rangers have gotten it.
