Stamina boost recovery item....issue? 04/26/2016 02:47 PM CDT
Grabbed a bard when this shield that holds no enchantment was selling for almost 20k at the pawn shop.

The magical harmonics reveal that this is an item which serves as a shield when held in the left hand.
The buckler resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:
It provides a bonus of 2 to Stamina Recovery.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 2 times.
The buckler looks to have a huge number of charges remaining.

Bard holding the buckler
>stamina
Maximum Stamina Points: 63
Remaining Stamina Points: 63
Stamina gained per pulse: 20

Bard not holding the buckler
>stamina
Maximum Stamina Points: 63
Remaining Stamina Points: 63
Stamina gained per pulse: 18

I get the buckler back on my wizard and it shows....

Wizard holding the buckler:
>stamina
Maximum Stamina Points: 56
Remaining Stamina Points: 56
Stamina gained per pulse: 16

Wizard not holding the buckler:
>stamina
Maximum Stamina Points: 56
Remaining Stamina Points: 56
Stamina gained per pulse: 15

Bard is 1x in PF and is level 20.

My wizard has 23 ranks in PF and is level 81.

Why do I only see a +1 bonus to my wizard's stamina recovery instead of the +2 the item should grant? It's not some ground breaking issue, he's not a physical character and sure he lacks decent training in PF, it just seems odd he doesn't get the full benefit. I don't plan on keeping the buckler, I'm just curious as to why this is.

Stamina recovery is percentage-based and not static like mana recovery is. So a +2 stamina recovery item is +2% more stamina recovery. Compared to a +2 mana recovery item that is a flat +2 more mana a pulse. Beyond that, I'm not sure what the base recovery numbers are that it gets added to.
