Death's Sting mechanics 03/26/2013 11:09 PM CDT
I know that Death's Sting causes you to absorb experience inefficiently for a certain period, depending on how you got it, but I'm a little unclear on the actual duration. The numbers given on Krakiipedia and in the save posts are all given in amounts of experience, which is a little vague!

For example, if you decay with a deed, you get 1000 points of experience inefficiency, during which you only gain 25% of the experience you absorb. Which of the following scenarios is correct?

a) You remain inefficient until you absorb 1000 experience -- about one bounty. Because of experience inefficiency, you only actually gain 250 experience during this period.
b) You remain inefficient until you actually gain 1000 experience. Experience inefficiency means this takes you as long as it would normally take to get 4000 experience -- three to four bounties.
c) You remain inefficient until the experience inefficiency has cost you 1000 experience -- about 1300 experience gained (and 300 absorbed).

As you see, knowing which scenario is correct makes a big difference when deciding whether to buy potions or whether going on Triple-X with sting is a catastrophic idea. Does anybody know which is accurate?
