Can't find the foraging thread that I responded to the other day, and too tired to search too far.

So it turns out, I did actually do some additional testing with foraging when monks came out, but I didn't post the results. I was probably waiting for the conversation to become a little less heated so as not to add more fuel.

Unconfirmed bonuses (these stats are connected bonuses but it's not clear yet if the bonus is tied to the stat or the stat bonus) - will confirm this after racial bonuses, there may also be a weighting system involved as someone else has reported seeing int bonus / 2.5
Agility Bonus / 5 OR Agility Stat / 10
Intuition Bonus / 2 OR Intuition Stat / 4

Things that can be added to the Krakii page - if someone can update it.
Monks profession bonus: 15

-Rough Formula
-Difficulties of Herbs using Rough Formula

It looks like I'm almost at the point that I can create a rough formula to summarize this system, and to also start assigning "difficulties" to herbs for use in that formula. However, I'm not ready to post that formula as too many people run with formulas as the final word and it'll probably go through several drafts before its finalized. Also, too many assumptions are made on preliminary data.

I suspect the foraging thread you're talking about is in the Magic Spells Systems/Minor Elemental folder. The one that started as a proposal to have 402 give a foraging bonus and turned into a pretty lengthy statistical debate?

If there's any way I can help, feel free to say so. I have a level 27 Dark Elven Sorcerer, a level 14 Sylvan Ranger, and a few other random characters.

Here's some additional data. All testing was done in the landing foraging for acantha leaf, mainly on W and S Ring Road. I avoided bright and dark rooms.

1. ER is the minimum for success
2. Bonus is the tentative professional bonus based on your research
3. PER is trunc(perception skill/15) with skill in ( )
4. SUR is trunc(survival ranks/3) with ranks in ( )
5. INT is trunc(INT bonus * 0.40) with bonus in ( )
6. AGI is trunc(AGI bonus * 0.10) with bonus in ( )
7. Kneel is 2 open hand kneeling bonus
8. Total is sum of modifiers

*The Human Monk (ER 80) result was standing with two empty hands. When I have time I'll recheck that result from a kneeling positioon. With the exception of that one character, all other testing was kneeling.

Looks like halflings may have upwards of a -15 race penalty. If you don't have any halfling data, I can roll up another of a different profession to verify the race penalty.

Dark elf sorcerer and rogue each totalled 107.
Dark elf empath and wizard each totalled 109.

I tested the DE wizard both encumbered w/spells and unencumbered spelless. Same outcome for each setup.

I tried to remove any outside noise that may have influenced the outcomes; not certain how successful I was and I couldn't find a common-to-all factor that would explain the variance.

Correction to previous table. The character I had listed as a human monk with d100: 80 is a human warrior with a d100: 90. So the endroll is actually 110 not 105. The column headers ER and Total should have been labeled d100 and ER, respectively. Half-elf ranger confirmed d100: 47, ER 107 (also, aloes stem d100: 62 for the ranger)

I also added a human rogue and tested 1) w/o PER/SUR, 2) w/2 ranks in each 3) w/3 ranks in each. With 2 ranks in each there was no change. With 3 ranks the minimum d100 for success was reduced from 84 to 82.
