Refreshing spells 02/06/2016 08:45 PM CST
So I cast Mantle of Faith at myself from a scroll. Then a friendly paladin walked in and cast it at me. It cut my duration effectively in half, considering my sorcerer's arcane symbol ranks and the Paladin's spell training.

Seems like a bit of a rip-off to me. Need a log or is this well-known with many such spells?

Normal practice is for a refreshable to misfire if it would be worse than what you currently have on you. I'd BUG 1601.

It's a bit of a long clip considering all my spells, but that also shows there wasn't too much time passing here. Oddly, lich also gets this messed up. I'll go ahead and bug it then, as I also felt the behavior is strange.

PS: I'll have to ask Glinty about his Blessing Lore. It could be one of these strange things where the game "thinks" it's better to reduce my duration by 50% even if the lore bonus is small (though the lore bonus can be large, too). There are actually a lot of weird things in the 1600s, like your own duration on say 1613 getting dropped down if a more skilled paladin casts it on the group. I wonder if that's kind of what's going on here, as well.

These kinds of "benefits" ought to be reviewed. If my wife's ranger casts 104 or 105 on my sorcerer, considering the lores, he has to STOP those spells to refresh them himself. It's a big can of worms from the backend, but it's not a whole lot better from the player experience side I'd say.

I'll go ahead and BUG this but I feel like it's a Lore issue basically.

PPS: Just found Glinty. He has no Blessing Lore, so this is a definite bug then.
