It is probably worth noting that neither resistance or crit padding can reduce a rank 1 to a rank 0. So even if you could get 95% cold resist and wonderously padded armor you wouldn't be able to completely negate cold attacks. No woundless searching Ice Golems or complete immunity to Icemule weather effects, etc.

But that said a half-krol monk in a plain set of 4x brig (not the standard, I know) would be roughly the equal of someone in FGB with a lower skilled rangers cold resist applied to it when it came to taking hits from cold attacks. And since FGB costs a good 10 million silver more than a plain 4x suit it isn't a terrible deal for the monk.

Thanks for the reply Finros and others! I didn't even think to look at the official half krolvin page, but it makes it clear that it stacks with padding/resistance from armor and other sources as Finros stated.
