Slab cut sizes? 12/15/2015 04:29 PM CST

Seems I'm being a pest here, Just trying to get up to speed.

What is a reasonable weight to cut slabs to? Just what the 'Measure glyph' reports or somewhat more?

In a similar vein, is there a signifigant failure rate once skill levels are higher? At forging skill for OHE of 40 I get failure about 40% of time and lose some weight so I have been using larger slabs

I always cut slabs to the meausered size.

Long ago, I heard elvish wisdom that said you want to cut the slab one pound bigger just in case there was some error during forging and you needed to retry. Being a dwarf, my first thought was, only an elf would err while forging, so I always work with the size measured. Anything less and the glyph wont take.
