Bad names are a routine concern for players in GemStone IV, and for the past decade, we've provided players a means of dealing with offensive or inappropriate naming through the BADNAME verb. However, this has done little to stem the tide of poorly-named individuals compromising immersion for the roleplaying populace.

In order to deal with this problem more efficiently, we've decided to start offering a means for players to police their own with greater efficacy: the Name Discouragement Token, now available through the SimuCoin store for the low cost of $9.99.

Simply purchase one of these tokens, wave it at a player with a name you consider questionable, and you'll be able to choose a new name for them provided that it has at least seven consonants, one vowel, and three syllables.

This token will not work on players over level 75. Free-to-play subscribers will be able to use Name Discouragement Tokens only after purchasing a Name Discouragement Token Token, which unlocks the ability to purchase Name Discouragement Tokens.
