Is it worth investing in spirit summoning and MoC for fire spirit if you're not planning on doing GoS and sticking with dead things?

Or are these worth it regardless of 111 use? I've never used the spell before but could with a fixskills.

>I'm recently back after a long hiatus as well. What's this GoS acronym people keep dropping? And what did they change about meditation? Seems all the old forum posts about it are gone.

GoS = Guardians of Sunfist.

A third society with modern mechanics. You get perks for doing what the society wants, in this case killing Grimswarm (which are troll, orc and giants with NPC type abilities) and other similar creatures. Your powers depend on a mixture of mana and stamina use and you just have to kill their enemies to get mastered.

meditation

Once you have been meditating for 1 minute, you get enhanced recovery (an extra (DIS+WIS)/2) on the normal pulses (no change)
after 2 minutes you can start interacting again and still keep the enhanced pulses. Messaging tells you when this happens. (change)
if you move out of a sanct, or in any case after 10 minutes, it wears off. You get messaging to tell you.
even when the messaging says its worn off, you still often get the enhanced value for the next pulse or two. Its quite nice getting meditation enhanced pulses in the field. (bug)

A few of MoC (1-3) are worth while. 0.1x is a reasonable rate to train them. Don't go past 3 unless you are specialising in fire spirit, or want the protection from swarm FoF effects.

Summoning has less pronounced benefits from just training a few ranks, but you are probably going to want it for other benefits eventually. I wouldn't train much if any yet, unless fire spirit was your main attack spell.

Skeletal ice trolls are dead things, and probably the single best target for fire spirit in the game. If you are training SA, its worth training a few ranks MOC to boost your splash chances when you use ball spells.

20 ranks of spirit summoning unlocks the bolt version of web, which gives you another bolting option, for 9 mana.
