Sounds & Macros in Wrayth 02/28/2022 08:10 AM CST
Hi everyone,

I've just returned to Gemstone after 15+ years away and am trying to find my way around Wrayth. In the old wizard, we could assign sounds to characters, creatures, and actions. Is that possible in Wrayth? I'm also trying to figure out how to create macros so I can "automate" some of the hunting tasks. Is there a website where I can find that information?

Hi TSCHELIGIN1,

I don't want to discourage you from using the newer client but did want to mention that the Wizard Front End (FE) still works very well with the game (it is the FE I still use). I have very limited familiarity with the functionality of Wrayth (fka StormFront) but hopefully someone else here on the forums can point you to a good resource. I do know that Wizard FE macros will mostly work on the StormFront FE with some very minor tweaking.

We do have a wiki but the page on Wrayth doesn't appear to address your specific questions.

Thank you so much! I'll download the old Wizard as well and play around with it.

In the upper right corner of Wrayth is an OPTIONS drop down menu. You can set up Highlights (and squelches), Macros, Scripts, and other nifty stuff.

Something I always do under SETTINGS/LOCATION is to check everything be saved to the server so that no matter where I log in all of my settings are saved.

Welcome back!

Thanks so much! I looked at that box but couldn't figure out how to add macros and where they would show up. I have a lot to (re-)learn!

I remember switching from Wizard to SF (renamed Wraythe now), and after a few weeks, decided it was worth it after all.

And I had been using Wizard daily at that time, so it was all fresh in my mind.

The nice things about the newer front end is that you get a heads up current spell status window. a speech window, clickable links when you want (or turn it off if you don't want) for nearly every object. There's drop down menus with selections for some things, like talking to an NPC, and a familiar window that can be used for a few other things besides just familiars.

Give it a try!
