Accelerator Points 08/14/2022 10:06 PM CDT
We have three different kinds of experience. This works very well. It's fun to come back and see a lot of the ideas posted have processed into some characteristics of the game, such as the post-cap rewards. Wonderful news.

My suggest for Accelerator Points is this. Accelerator Points are earned by a combination of random pulses when draining Field Experience, automatically when applying Long-Term Experience with a random chance for a slight mod increasing that, when using a BOUNTY reward for it, and when getting to a Saturated mental state. The logic behind the design is that the AP's are something which results as a natural offshoot of learning massive amounts and rising through the levels. As we all know through schooling of one kind or another, there are times when our minds are really 'on' and other times we're sort of ready for sleep or some fun, something other than class just then. When we learn, there are connections we make and we mature from it. As we learn it would therefore be a fair assumption that we have moments when we learn more adroitly and when we make remarkable insights for ourselves from long introspection about our dangerous doings.

Thus when AP's are gained, there is a modified to draining experience. This will not work when a weekly 3x/2x mod is active but the AP's will be stored in your AP pool. You can choose to have them activate automatically or you can store them up. The application of them increases your experience drainage for a set number of pulses. The time and how much of a modification is determined by how many APs are applied, how much experience is in your mind, level/stat bonuses.

So let's take something like this: a 42nd level character has stored her AP pool for months and wants to use it now. Her weekly gift is expended and she has a saturated mind. She has stored up 3700 AP's over the last 10 levels and wants to activate them now. Doing so gives her +3.7 exp per pulse when she is draining, rounded up to +4. With each pulse her pool will decrease by 10. As her AP's drain, so does the mod so that when she has 2200 points left her mod is +2.2 exp per pulse, etc.

This is one example in a simple way of how this could work. It's a nice way to earn points. It's a way to boost a bit when your weekly mod is not going.

If you elect to have them drain automatically, it will not activate until you reach 1000 points in your pool which will continue giving a bonus of +1 per pulse until it reaches below 501 (so it won't round up).
