Mana Sub-Pool 07/11/2022 12:05 AM CDT

We have different kinds of experience.
Why not have a sub mana pool?

The idea is to give adventurers the choice of diverting and conserving their excess mana
in a way which could be useful, rather than wasting it. If they have a way to put some mana aside, it will open up a lot of doors. The sub pools could be either general, as in only one or it could have a few options.

If there's a few pools, then the way it is used in the future could be chosen. Some examples would be a Reserve pool so you don't overdo your mana, it would withdraw whatever
you go over from there. One would be possibly good for rescue oriented spells only such as Wall of Force, Spirit Fog, Sanctuary, Transference, Locate, etc. Mana for spellups only. There's quite a lot of possibilities. If it is just one pool however, then perhaps it can be there when you need it for the best overall design purpose. Maybe it only will be possible to use after you are revived or does that wipe it out?

The conversion from retaining the mana expends mana and the maintenance of the mana sub pools requires mana. It would be 1 mana every third pulse for my choice, something like that and maybe getting about 1/3 back you put in.

Having sub mana pool(s) could have hidden bonuses for things like warding spells (both good and bad capabilities depending on which side you're on, which spell is being cast), for EMC based bonuses, Enchanting or Ensorcelling, etc.
