Last night in a 3 Team Arena, I was using INCANT DISRUPT OPEN
A number of times, Mister Tsarok, who was hiding and ambushing, was hit by my nervestaff flares, not by the song.
At least near as I could tell.
(It was hectic, what can I say!)
Is something going wrong here with the new changes to a player safe sonic disruption that the flares are not player safe?!
It was distressing!

I used BUGITEM last night to try to describe this.
It may be related to more flares than a nerve staff... but I only have the two rune staves, and on the other one, well we already know the birdstick hates music.
I do not normally hunt with Sonic Disruption OPEN. For the last 4 months, I have mostly not even been using renew, or using the nerve staff as I tried to work up the affinity on the animalistic staff.
So I am not sure what combo of things and/or changes are doing this.
Combing through my Arena logs I can see it happens only on the flare, never with the song.
I am using INCANT DISRUPT OPEN, and renewing it. Last night, the victim was Miss Meggiemae. :( She was part of the team of 3 in the Arena and she never hid.
I bolded where the flare went out of control on her. :(

Sound waves disrupt for 48 damage!
... 50 points of damage!
Several thin, fibrous white filaments erupt from your illthorn scepter and swirl around each other in a chaotic dance. Straining to reach a banded cave worm, they unleash a powerful surge of electrical current upon the object of their wrath!
... 15 points of damage!
Hard jolt knocks Meggiemae back on her heels.
She is stunned!

You feel energized!
Renewing "Song of Sonic Disruption" for 20 mana.
Sing Roundtime 3 Seconds.
As much fun as arena logs are to comb through ... I believe this is ONLY happening on a RENEW. But I think you GMs are in a much better spot to tell where the problem is than me randomly testing stuff in a screen-overflowing Arena and putting other characters in harm's way.

This is a 6x/T4 Nerve Staff with T5 ensorcelling and 8x Acuity.
And it is DISTRESSING to have happen.

I'm looking at it, along with runestaff flares with open/closed casting in general. Runestaves shouldn't flare on open cast spells.

This should be behaving again. This includes allowing spells like 1030 single target to flare while suppressing flares on AoE.
