A torn, blood stained piece of parchment paper 04/24/2016 10:09 PM CDT
The rain continues to fall hard, deepening puddles forming around the entryway to the Silvermist Estate. A lone Elothean hastily approaches, barely acknowledging the guard that opens the gate, before he walks through it and onto the Estate grounds. Serenity Lake, normally a place of relaxation and entertainment is ignored entirely as the Elothean resolutely continues on his way, towards a stairway leading up towards a nondescript door except for a plaque which reads "Talia's Office" on it.

As the Elothean finishes ascending the stairs and enters the door he finds himself in an office that offers a view of nearly the entire grounds of the Estate. He spends little time admiring the view, however. He nods briskly to the Elven woman seated at the desk before reaching into his jacket and removing a piece of parchment paper. The paper is torn and blood stained. He calmly says, "This came into my posession about an anlas ago. I came right away as I am confident you need to see it immediately." He hands the paper to Kintalia.

At a glance, the words on the parchment are hasty and succinct, as if scribbled rapidly. Tears in the paper intersect with some of what had been written on it. In other places, splotches of what appears to be blood cover up some of the words.

A prolonged look at the paper reveals the following message:

"aveling party attacked. Guards overwhelmed. Saramei Silvermist abduc. Efforts to track the kidnappers... Saramei's location unkn..."

The signature on the letter is missing entirely, a tear separating where it had been from the rest of the note entirely.

The clatter of armour is heard as several couriers emerge from the mistwood stairs to enter the office. Each of the couriers wears an Elven silk armband with the Silvermist family crest.

The Elven woman seated at the desk nods briefly before handing off a rolled parchment to each of them. They promptly turn to leave, purpose and mission evident in their brisk pace.

Glancing back to the stack of parchments remaining on the desk, elegant cursive handwriting is sealed by the wax seal of the Silvermist family crest.

Upon closer inspection the parchment reads:

"We have received a report that Saramei Silvermist, daughter of the House, has been kidnapped. We have received no ransom or demands as yet. By request of the Lady Kintalia and her Lord, we request your assistance in identifying the attackers and tracking the whereabouts of Saramei. Please advise of your resource capabilities and any costs incurred in this endeavour. Your continued support and loyalty to the House of Silvermist as a member of the Guard is appreciated.

By the hand of Lady Silvermist, Kintalia"

Stylized flames curl around a cluster of moonflowers to create the Silvermist family crest impressed into rich crimson wax that marks the bottom of the document. A cursive signature graces the bottom of the parchment.

snowflakes drift across the mistwood and sana'ati trees outside the window of the office. A solitary beam of moonlight cast a light across the desk and the Elven woman seated there. A single tear glitters in the moonlight as she gazes into the distance, a partially crushed parchment still clutched in her hand.

Peering closer at the parchment you make out the message"
"It is with regret I inform you that the Lady Damoza Silvermist, sister to the Lady of the House led a search for your daughter Saramei three days hence. Upon the road the group were ambushed and the Lady Damoza was taken by our attackers. We know her to have been mortally wounded at the time of her capture, her fate is unknown. We hope and pray to the gods that she was given the touching hand of an Empath before her wounds were fatal. We will regroup and continue the search."
