WM spell updates 01/24/2013 04:21 PM CST
I just rolled in new copies of all the WM spells. Not all of them have had any changes done to them, but they've all been outfitted with a link to some core WM difficulty modifications for spells. This was previously only in about half the spells, and changed the minimum and maximum mana values for the spell based on things like season/time of day/weather.

The new modifications will no longer show up on DISCERN, and instead change the difficulty of the spells based on those same criteria. The changes in difficulties are not drastic - i think the absolute worse case scenario is an 8% difference. These changes all live in one easy place now, so future tweaks can be done without having to poke into every spell.

Some other bugs and spell difficulties have also been fixed while I was in there. Here's the bug fix/modification list:

Aether:
ES - Creatures that cast this should stop accidentally affecting players with it.
AC - Minimum mana has been reduced, difficulty has been increased significantly. This one is now a standard Esoteric cyclic spell.
ETF - Difficulty was reduced to be in line with Advanced spells, minimum mana reduced a little as well. The fissure can now be CLOSEd by the caster.
Substratum - Minor change to minimum difficulty, nothing really noticeable.

Electric:
AL - Prevented stacking stun effects from repeat casts for both critters and players, fixed head damage to work properly.
Tingle - Spell slots changed to 3 (was always supposed to be 3), updated the flavor text.
LB - Updated the flavor text.
GZ- Minor change to the flavor text, and mana ranges.

Fire:
FB - Fixed a bug that may have caused no exp gain when FB killed the target, minor change to min prep, reduced ancillary strike damage potential
DB - Minor increase in base difficulty
FR - Raised the max difficulty, and lowered the max mana. Fixed a bug that could double fines in town, and another bug that could cause the spell to seem to still be on the player if the cloud was already gone.
Ignite - Shortened reignite time if weapon has been recently thrown.


Water:
Frostbite - very minor changes to mana range and difficulties.
IP - very minor changes to mana range and difficulties.
RM - Allowed a fog to form when zephyr was in effect, so long as the potency was above a certain threshold, and updated the flavor text a little.
Geyser - Very minor minimum prep change.

Earth:
Tremor - Updated the flavor text, fixed a bug with messaging the caster in other rooms.
ROS - Max mana increased, Difficulty increased to reflect Esoteric cyclic range

Air:
Zeph - Modified the flavor text a little.
TW - Modified the flavor text a little.
Thunderclap - Mana and difficulty now handled by normal WM mods, instead of inside/outside differences. Probably about the same.
