Summoned weapon syntax issues. 05/10/2020 10:46 AM CDT
> shape my heavy mace to large edge

What type of weapon were you trying to shape that into?

> shape my mace to large edge

Your knowledge of weaponsmithing improves the pattern you are attempting to summon.
You reach out with your will and reshape your mace into a broadsword.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

Please help me. The parser kills me when trying to "shape my <thing> to LE" because doing that will look at, for instance, plovik leaves in the junk pile or a leopard in the room before my weapon and will error out.

But "shape my <thing> to large edge" will also inexplicably just not work sometimes.

I am totally open to the idea that I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure it out and all the syntax wonkiness seems like something that is maybe not intended.

Thank you.

Additionally, this is specifically a thing that only seems to come up with shaping to Large Edge, for me.

update.

Tested "shape my heavy mace to small edge" and got the same "What type of weapon were you trying to shape that into?".

"shape my heavy mace to se" correctly shapes the weapon.

Update to the update... so I think I've got this figured out. The SHAPE command (in this context, anyway) will only take 5 arguments.

> shape my vilks kodur to small edge
What type of weapon were you trying to shape that into?

Six arguments, does not recognize weapon type.

> shape vilks kodur to small edge

>
Your knowledge of weaponsmithing improves the pattern you are attempting to summon.
You reach out with your will and reshape your kodur into a scimitar.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

Five arguments, works fine.

> shape my icy broadsword to se

Your knowledge of weaponsmithing improves the pattern you are attempting to summon.
You reach out with your will and reshape your broadsword into a scimitar.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

Five arguments, works fine.

> shape my icy scimitar to staves

>
Your knowledge of weaponsmithing improves the pattern you are attempting to summon.
You reach out with your will and reshape your scimitar into a quarterstaff.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

Five arguments, also fine.

> shape my icy qu to large edge
What type of weapon were you trying to shape that into?

Six arguments, doesn't work.

> shape icy qu to large edge

Your knowledge of weaponsmithing improves the pattern you are attempting to summon.
You reach out with your will and reshape your quarterstaff into a broadsword.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

Five arguments, works fine.

So in conclusion, looks like it only takes up to 5 arguments. But being fully specific requires 6 arguments to avoid stupid parser errors with things in the room. Please help?

with every weapon, use the element first. large edge is the only broken i've seen otherwise

>shape stone scim to ht
You reach out with your will and reshape your scimitar into a javelin.

> shape stone jav to fire
You reach out with your will and reshape your javelin into a fiery javelin.

> shape fiery jav to le (error)

>shape fiery jav to large edge
You reach out with your will and reshape your javelin into a broadsword.

>shape fiery broad to icy
You reach out with your will and reshape your broadsword into an icy broadsword.

shape icy broad to lb
You reach out with your will and reshape your broadsword into a hara.
