The stone shards from stone strike can be loaded into a bow which turns them from a 'jagged stone shard' into a 'stone shard' and they no longer decay. They behave in every way as both arrows (albeit really crappy ones) including stacking in containers, appraisal, etc.

It's possible this is intended, I suppose, but something about it seems inadvertent to me.
