Loupes... so, they let you see the flaws in gems.... does that mean you can improve the quality of your gems, and they'll be worth more? If so, at what circle, or ranks of X skill is this a viable thing to do? And is it a painstakingly long task, or is it worth the time?

It may be that with the mech split, traders will be able to polish and otherwise shape gems. Otherwise, only a moon mage with Clarify Gem could do anything to actually improve the gem's sale value.

I've not tried getting my hot little hands on a loupe, so I can't speak about that.

Mmmmm, that idea makes me giddy. My trader being able to become a real lapidary, and set up shop, and polish and cut all those gems I buy in bulk from people..... and make my own jewelry.....

Is it weird that that excites me?

Probably. It's okay, though. I'm weird with you. I have a Moon Mage who's obsessed with gems.
