Too many trader tiltes? 07/04/2008 04:26 PM CDT
<<Was wondering if there would be a way to sort titles by lowest - highest requirements or maybe from last - most recently acquired? As a Trader with all of the new titles that seem to be free at 1st Circle, I'm now having trouble sifting through the giant paragraph of titles available. I realize that I can check an external site, but I'd rather just be able to type in "title pre list trader" and see anything new at the end.>>

This was taken from another post, in another catergory. Thing is, that from talking to a few (and will say a few, not enough to make any consensus) traders, we do seem to have too many titles. Typing 'title pre list trader' can lead to a big paragraph that is hard to read. Every so often I do it and realize that I got a new title based on how my last title has shifted over on the last line.

Now I realize that our GMs have worked hard on getting these for us, but it be nicer if it was more readable. So, I think we need to get rid of some of these titles. What I have at 59th cirle, with 315 trading, 257 appraisal, 38 charisma, more than enough money for title, 96 stealing and enough armor, survival, etc for alot of titles:

>title pre list trader
The following titles of the Trader category are available to you:

Initiate Trader, Apprentice Trader, Journeyman Trader, Trader, Expert Trader, Hauler, Teamster, Traveler, Costermonger, Hawker, Cashier, Longshoreman, Peddler, Sutler, Muleskinner, Emptor, Shipper, Lapidary, Corpse Hauler, Toastmaster, Bazaari, Chandler, Factor, Courier, Gemologist, Auctioneer, Speculator, Broker, Horse Trader, Street Peddler, Retailer, Pawn Broker, Financier, Cambist, Investor, Manager, Shopkeeper, Moneybags, Debt Collector, Beneficiary, Bondsman, Auditor, Creditor, Usurer, Big Shot, Trustee, Comptroller, Errand Boy, Drover, Carter, Mule Tender, Clerk, Dust Cloud, Resident Trader, Caravaner, Importer, Exporter, Independent Contractor, Contract Caller, Apprentice Merchant, Amateur Haggler, Bargain Hunter, Bargain Seller, Tagger, Table Trader, Table Waiter, Junior Haggler, Salesman, Closer, Compromiser, Monger Friend, Market Trader, Haggler, Clothing Specialist, Marketing Expert, Skilled Haggler, Liquidator, Vendor, Middleman, Armor Specialist, Weapon Specialist, Inventory Analyst, Wholesaler, Advanced Haggler, Price Gouger, Order Taker, Bidder, Commodity Trader, Floor Runner, Supplier, Bookkeeper, Floor Broker, Short Seller, Market Specialist, Commodities Specialist, Specialist, Arbitrageur, Consultant, Market Analyst, Initiate Examiner, Initiate Evaluator, Apprentice Examiner, Apprentice Evaluator, Journeyman Examiner, Journeyman Evaluator, Shopping Enthusiast, Examiner, Evaluator, Expert Examiner, Expert Evaluator, Master Examiner, Master Evaluator, Inspector, Assessor, Straw Boss, Debater, Lucky, Silver Tongue, Charismatic, Bookie, Skimmer, Corrupt, Extortioner, Cadge, Horse Breeder, Yak Rider, Barefoot Pilgrim, Repossessor, Arbitrator, Arranger, Merchant Marine, Tradesman, Agent, Decision Maker, Corporate Slave, Adoption Agent, Supervisor, Greedy

That is quite a list. Hard to read. So some suggestions I'd like to make.

<Initiate Examiner, Initiate Evaluator, Apprentice Examiner, Apprentice Evaluator, Journeyman Examiner, Journeyman Evaluator, Examiner, Evaluator, Expert Examiner, Expert Evaluator, Master Examiner, Master Evaluator>

Move these. Take them from Trader titles and make them Lore titles. Base them on appraisal only and let all guilds have them.

<Amateur Haggler, Junior Haggler, Haggler, Skilled Haggler, Advanced Haggler>

Really, we need more than one of these? Haggler is enough.

A few others I think can go:

Table Waiter---Not sure why this needed with ones like Table Trader

Bidder-- We sell, not buy. Well at least mostly.

Barefoot Pilgrim-- I like this one, but really doesn't fit in our context. Sounds more like a repenting or broke Cleric.

Making these changes would make it:

Still alot, but more readable. I do like it that time was spent to provide us with many option. Just think that some of them better elsewhere or repetative.

Oh, one other thing. I believe I got Expert Trader before I had 300 in trading. To me, it seems that the XXXXX Trader titles should follow more on the EXP RP model.

The Expert Trader title is actually from hitting 40th. Every guild at 40th can be an "Expert XXX". Trading Expert is what you get for 300 trading skill.
