It would be good if shop owners could get advertising posters to pin up around town. These could be generic as to simply give the name of the shop and merchant and what they sell, or more custom posters written by the merchant themselves. These posters would blow away in a couple days so as to not clutter the town. -X

That is an interesting thought. There is a shop in Therenborough where a trader may get cards and labels, and similar supplies. Posters would be a natural addition to that shop. Another thing is that we might be able to hire town criers for special events and sales: Not everyone uses the gweth and chatter channels.

Neat idea. You could limit the number of posters per room, similar to financing; use your idea of limited shelf-life, and you could let the trader list a few interesting items that they have for sell (maybe automates to the most expensive or cheapest items in the shop?). Traders can put up posters once a week, they last for three days, and of course gathering spots would be prime locations.

Oh, here's another idea. Drop sandwich boards. That way you don't need to change anything on the room level. Treat them as immovable objects, and maybe given them additional functionality like garbage buckets or seats or something that makes someone less annoyed at their presence.
