Hireling for deeds 10/21/2014 02:36 PM CDT
It's been brought up before, but I'd really like to see a Trader hireling that is able to accept deeds and bring back the material for use.

This could be helpful for using in our shops, on the road, while standing around and socializing, and pretty much any other time when materials might be needed.

>Hire journeyman

A journeyman arrives, tapping his foot impatiently.

>ask journeyman about help

A journeyman says, i can help with the follow: "Ask me for Tools for a list a tools that i can retrieve from the crafting society storage, or Give me a tool and i will store it at the crafting society tool storage. You can also ask me for Deeds for a list of deeds in storage, or ask for deed number to retrieve that specific deed. Just give me an ingot or other crafting material and i can deed it for you. Of course all these services cost a silver to use, so make sure to have the coin on hand."

I would assume these functions would work just like the deed storage and tool storage npc's work. Just remotely with a fee.

I would of course suggest that any place that your caravan resided, an hireling could be hired.
Heck there's now a trader's gemologist, and a traders furrier on the caravan, why not hirelings?

Doesn't say anything about "Can give me a deed and I will retrieve the material from storage for you"

Which is really what I want.

i assumed you realized that i meant crafting material converted from the deed. I mean really, what good is a piece of paper if you cannot use it.

Something similar was also just suggested on the Thieves' board. It seems like a good idea to me, with the caveat that we need more societies in more cities independent of this ability.

Wouldn't it be more Traderly to be able to load those huge boulders onto your caravan?

I'm just imagining the proposed deed exchange minion.

minion: "I'd like to turn this in."
society: "Sure, here's your 10,000 stone boulder."
minion: "How the hell do I get it 28 miles away?"
society: "Find a moon mage and a couple Togs?"

Probably something like...

minion: "I'd like to turn this in."
society: "Sure, here's your boulder."
minion: "How the heck am I supposed to move that?"
society: "Well, here is a sled and a harness. Figure it out."
