New POC Interior "Stuff"! 06/12/2013 01:46 AM CDT
For those who haven't been following the thread in the Caravans folder, let me first direct you there...

http://forums.play.net/forums/DragonRealms/The%20Traders/Caravans%20and%20Beasts%20Of%20Burden/view/721

...and then let me say that these new mechanics are now live. To recap:

1) Primp My Ride no longer sells interiors for your POC. Instead, you can speak to your local trade minister at an outpost. Ask him about INTERIOR to get started. In the future, we'll be expanding the new mechanics to also allow you to customize your interior room text.

2) Custorian's Creations is now open right next to Primp My Ride at Guild Fest. It functions very similarly to home shops. You can use ORDER to see a list of what's being sold, then ORDER # to buy a particular thing. This will immediately add it to your caravan.

3) You are limited to 1 door, 2 large, 3 medium and 4 small items. There's also a "10 item total" restriction -- existing interiors will need to be converted so that the new stuff recognizes it. "Unrecognized" furniture still counts against the 10-item limit. You can ask a trade minister about FURNITURE to see a list of what he does recognize. Anything not in the list hasn't been converted yet (see 5 below).

4) You can turn furniture in your caravan into a furniture slip/voucher by asking a trade minister about REMOVAL. These can be sold, traded, vaulted, whatever. If you have a slip you want to restore the furniture for, GIVE it to a trade minister.

5) Willowbrook's assistant, Auriril, was on hand tonight to gather an initial list of names to start converting existing furniture to the new templates. Check the calendar. Another visit is scheduled for Wednesday evening for those of you who weren't around tonight -- bring 5 platinum lirums with you to join the list. I know it's short notice, but in the long run it's not going to matter too much. There are almost 200 interiors currently, but only 72 are claimed. These merchant lists simply give us a group of active players to focus on updating their POCs first. When I free up another stretch of time or can lasso outside help, we'll go through all of the existing (including unsold) interiors and update them. If you don't make the list, don't sweat it too much. You can still use the new shops, you just won't have full access to all 10 of your slots. (See 3 above.)

You may not find everything you're wanting just yet, but this is an initial release of the new mechanic. We'll continue expanding it and adding new features over time. Likewise, it opens the door for 24/7 furniture shops around the realms that aren't restricted to fests. We're eager to hear new ideas and feature requests for future projects, so bring 'em on!

If you run into any problems with the new mechanics or have questions, please drop us a note here on the Trader forums. I'll be keeping a close eye for the next few days.

Greetings.

Just wanted to give an update on the conversion process. Somewhere around 400+ furniture pieces have been converted to the new size mechanics. Please note that tables/stands/etc that would be created as container types in the new system were not converted -- they largely still show as 'objects'. This is intended. One of our upcoming shops will bring new versions of the old furniture for those of you who just really want to future-proof them. You're not missing out on any functionality right now, just to be clear.

Working through Auriril's and Willowbrook's lists (for Prime), these folks had their interiors completely converted: Mofasah, Legiro, Demophon, Stylia, Gnara, Rajara, Annandale, Deaglan, Monne, Indaara, Sortny, Kenzaze, Scrytenslatha, Apu, Tasyra, Bovi, Dutosa, and Groot.

Any (most, at any rate) furniture that any of these folks had that was converted was converted for everyone -- claimed and unclaimed interiors alike. As a result, several (though not all) of the unclaimed caravans have been fully converted now. As a result of the conversions, I noticed at least two folks who had bought new furniture at the fest have gone over the 'cap' for a particular size allowance. It's not a huge deal, but please be aware that if you remove one of these pieces, you will NOT be able to put it back due to the caps.

Platinum folks: I'm coming for yours next. I'll post over there with a status update when ready.
