FYI: hitting 'new post' instead of 'reply' was tacky in ye olde days, but worked.
Now a lot of people browse the forums in threaded view, which tracks things by topic, and each topic gets a different page with no other topics in it.
So by creating new posts you're going to be a single island of confusion where no one has any idea what you're talking about.
And really it's just insanely stupid to do. Especially when you either retype the post title in your post or don't put one in at all. It's more work and just creates more hassle for everyone.
