If you gain a bunch of skills as a commoner, and then join a guild, do you get to keep all that skill?
I think I finally decided to join one, but I dont want to lose all my experience.

Yes, you keep all that skill.
However, if you decide to join a guild and then quit that guild to join another...you'll lose all the skill you've earned while you were a commoner. I, sadly, found this out the hard way.

Dont join a guild - keep working and be a necromancer when that guild is released. you'll be ahead of the people that start out later on.
