This verb, used on a food or drink item, would return the item's taste.

It bugs me to have my characters take a few bites of something yet remain ignorant of the thing's taste, because eating or drinking something does not always return the taste.

You take a bite of the tart.
You take a bite of the tart. Yow! That's spicy!

Lick works with a few food/drink type items. Not all of them IIRC.

I also think this would be a good idea, consider it thirded.

Yep would be nice, I'd like to see all new food items have the smell verb. In real life, I always smell food I've never had before or food someone else has prepared. It's one of those oddball things.

Kalira hesitantly sniffs at a shepherd's pie kind of things.

Not all things smell like they taste. Some things even taste like other things smell which is in a whole extra realm of weird to me.

Hmm. That's a good idea, actually.
