Apparently this spell lost the ability to raise the life mana in the room. With the beseech the wind to clean, and the ability to summon the janitor - Can someone tell me what the use for compost is now?

It's the best early utility trainer for Rangers, until higher preps of Earth Meld become viable

That's all I got. It could definitely use a little touching up.

Rangers have more than their fair share of janitor effects but Compost is superior to the janitor/beseech in most cases imo. Compost has an instant-effect (janitor takes 5 minutes to show up and there's a cooldown timer for repeated use of Dump Junk) zero slot spell that works indoors as well as outdoors (beseech doesn't work indoors and requires 20th circle). It's available at first circle and trains utility from day 1 without any spell pre-reqs and without any spells down-branch that require it. That's better than any other zero slot spell (FM,CARE,Elementalism).

If it gets any 'touching up' or added effects you're almost certainly going to get charged a slot cost.

Compost probably makes slightly more sense as an Analogous Patterns spell in it's current practical application but what are you going to do?

Makes a great starter sorcery trainer for necros/WMs/Bards.

This is a good point. It's a zero slot cost spell.

This is fine. Warrior Mages and Moon Mages have zero-cost spells or metamagic, but they are important thematically (like Focus Moonbeam makes sense as an innate MM ability that doesn't require a spellslot, and Elementalism allows WMs to bypass having to waste spells slots on the intro spells for each element when they all serve a similar purpose).

Compost doesn't cost anything but it doesn't make any sense as a Ranger spell when Rangers already have a room clean cantrip in their beseeches. It should be rewritten to have some sort of beneficial effect for Rangers and cost a spell slot.

Compost is slated to become a metaspell that causes Ranger TM to boost Life mana. The current effect will likely go away.

That's pretty cool for Rangers.

Any chance when it converts to a metaspell, Compost's current effects could move over to a new intro AP spell? Compost's current effect is pretty handy to have on runestones (or sorcerously cast from scroll).
