Ranger Magics... 06/28/2016 11:07 PM CDT
If this is a part of Ranger Magic overhaul or 3.2 and I missed it some where I apologize in advance for the double posting...I had two thoughts for Ranger magic when I was looking at the spell book 1. Doesn't COTW=Malediction? If so why are Clerics paying two spell slots while Rangers a paying three? Also is it possible to add some poison/nerve damage to Swarm, I mean they are getting attacked by a cloud of stinging/biting insects it seems plausible that that would occur and would seriously help out a spell that I use very little (maybe it's more effective in PvP?). Just some random thoughts I thought I would throw out there.

The most generous possible interpretation is that Malediction is either -X to offense/defense, or -1/2X to both, while CoTW is -X to both. That's completely unverified but one way to read the e-pedia entries for those spells.

Not quite, although they will be more similar in 3.2. From the 3.2 changelog:
"Curse of the Wilds: Changed from damage reduction to accuracy reduction. Now hinders missile defense as well as melee defense. Now uses generic defensive debuffs instead of specific skill debuffs on players. Changed to Magic vs Fort."

Also what Seped said. If a cleric debuffs both offence and defence then they are only getting a half strength buff to each.
