Leaning against an ancient pine tree, a young woman giggles at a young wolf pawing at the ground. The young wolf sniffs the afternoon air. The young woman gently strokes the wolf's fur. The wolf responds with a yawn and a bark. Whistling loudly, the wolf takes one look at her and pads off. She gazes at the twilight sky and says, "It's time..." Smiling with delight she follows a faint trail leading north.
Wiping the sweat off her brow, she reaches into her haversack for a large vial. Ambling towards a narrow brook, she fills her vial with cool refreshing water. Checking her gear she surveys the area for well used deer trail.
Hiding in the shadows she flits from tree to tree as quiet as a mouse. She arrives before a terrain not very a familiar to her. Taking a step onto what appears to be solid patch of reeds, she falls through!
Gazing into the murky depth of water, she sees a faint shadow dart across. Searching the area, she finds a sinuous elsralael. Removing her longbow and loading her arrow, she begins to aim at this snake like creature. She spots some lake grass in the deep water and disappears into it without the monstrosity noticing. From her hiding place she lets loose her arrow! The arrow lodges into the elsralael's chest. Gazing in pain the elsralael lets out a wail and sinks to the bottom of the water.
Swimming to the slain creature, the young human grabs ahold to the elsralael's head and attempts to pry the tooth out.
Hearing the call of their slain brethren, two more sinuous elsralaels swim into the area. With the tooth in hand and knife in the other, she swims up, knowing she's going to run out air. Up up up she swims until one of her hands hits a solid patch of reeds. Climbing onto the reeds gasping for air, she flops down onto the sturdy hummock. Raising the tooth in the double moonlight, she lets out a wild howl. A perfect tooth!
