HUNT exp (scouting) 04/05/2015 11:01 AM CDT

When you 'HUNT'...you only get 'Perusing' scouting and perception...you can only hunt every 60-70 seconds or so regardless of how many 'entities' you pick up.

This should be changed.

Hunting should reward you based on the total amount of things picked up.

I can hunt and not see anything = NO exp.

I can hunt and see one thing a room away = perusing exp

I can hunt and see 50 things in all rooms around me = still only perusing

This does not make sense. The exp needs to be scaled based on how many things you see.

And I mean that the SCOUTING should be scaled. Not perception.

Scouting is a RANGER only skill and HUNTING should reward scouting accordingly.

The scouting exp for Hunt was said that it was never going to be a good way to train it. I also think they wanted to prevent rangers from being able to learn everything effectively in combat, as combat is already the premium spot for learning multiple skills at once. If we could learn everything effectively while hunting, there would be not point to ever do anything else for training. I'm pretty sure they want us to have to leave combat if we want to effectively learn scouting.

Although an argument could be made, if scouting actually had more use in combat. (or more use in general)

IIRC, the experience is based on the level of the highest creature you see.

No it isn't. Get out of here, Barbarian. This is the Ranger forum.

You still get to Perusing by hunting other PCs and NPCs....on a random basis.
