<<I'm having so much trouble training magic between 250-350 ranks. I'm finding I have to use so much mana in a single cast to learn I am only getting a few casts in at a time before I have to wait. When I hunt, and I use my spells at lower mana to cast quickly, they teach nothing. Is anyone else having this issue?

It doesn't sound like you are using symbiosis. Use PREPARE SYMBIOSIS any time before you cast a spell and that cast will have its difficulty increased making it teach better. This has the effect of reducing your personal cap for that spell while keeping the experience roughly the same. The reduced cap means you don't have to spend as much attunement per cast. You just need to figure out what your personal cap is with a symbiosis and you're good to go.
