I think the wolf should be modeled somewhat like the Paladins war horse with the wolf(aggressive companion) growing with the Ranger and engaging in combat...Or perhaps an offshoot of Awaken Forest if you have your wolf with you it is the wolf who becomes active and attacks while the spell is active. If you have a raccoon(passive companion) with you it drags you out of combat if you get stunned...
