Language books 11/13/2010 09:57 PM CST
Heres a thought:
Books that teach another language through much study and time, such as a year IRL. The learning would be broke up onto levels. At the first level the only thing understood from a learned language by the reader would be words that begin with a single letter type, lets say A. A player would hear "Soso says something in Gamgweth. What is spoken is "We all had a shot of whiskey when we came in from the cold. You hear '. all . a ..........'.
Unknown words would show as periods.

A second level might be five letters learned, lets say ABCDE. The same sentence would be head as such: '.all . a ..... came ... cold.

Third level, half the alphabet would be: '. all had a . . . . . came in from . cold.

The same formula could be used in speaking as the listeners would all get bits and pieces closely mimicking the frustration of trying to communicate in a foreign tongue.

Sure, it's a little coding work but in my humble opinion, I think it could be a cutting edge development that would improve not only DR but Simu itself. Truelly something to think about.
