Hi Elves. Need someone that can maybe assist in translation of two words.
darje and tapani.
These are both instruments sold in Muspar'I. They're not in S'Kra and the letter combinations of each word are seen frequently in Ilithic. Why do I want to know this? Curiousity. I was looking through the instruments and wondered, where the heck do all of these come from?!
Here's the list I made!
darje - Ilithic meaning = " " (Dar seems to be used in nouns. je used in adjectives)
oboe - French, Italian, English
shakuhachi - Japanese
Minjayrah - Arab
Tapani - Ilithic Meaning = "" (Ta used in nouns. pan used in nouns, i used all over)
Tabla - Arab
zurna - also called surnay. Turkish.
mitbiq - Iraq
pi sitar - Indian
sarangi - Hindi
yarghul - Arabic

Tap: Black ironwood tapani inlaid with ivory knotwork chains
Look: The tapani is a double-sided drum formed of a circle of polished black ironwood stretched across with two pieces of hide. The hide is laced in place with lengths of stiffly braided blue and ivory white cord. Running parallel down the middle of the tapani is a single chain of elaborate knotwork fashioned from slivers of ivory inlay.
Percussion Instrument
Tap: Red cedar darje edged with bands of silver wire knotwork
Look: The darje is fashioned from a membrane of leather stretched over a laminated red cedar ring that has been riveted with a silver wire knotwork chain around its middle. Along the edge of the darje pairs of silver disks are loosely attached, designed to clap together when the darje is struck.
