I presume if you lose your holy weapon even in this day and age you're JWF but figured I'd ask just in case.

When naming your holy weapon consider the following: Everyone has a Holy Avenger or a Divine Vengeance. Why not go with something your foes will never accept the shame of being smote by, "The Fuzzy Kitten".

Was it registered? you might be able to get it that way.

No, not registered, that would have been way too smart of an idea.

Its too bad the change of holy weapon quest wouldn't make a new weapon from a lost one. I mean if nothing was on the rack it might cost you a favor or more to make a new one.

I suspect it might be a technical limitation that it can't determine whether you have a holy weapon still in existance. So if you did it that way, what's to keep people from just vaulting/handing off/etc. their holy weapon and making 2 or 3 more?

I would guess you are correct as to the quest checking, but the weapon is bonded to you so perhaps a Guild Leader could intervine?

One of us is misunderstanding the other.

What I mean is, I'm not sure the system is capable of doing it.

If the holy weapon data is on the weapon, then without it, it doesn't know whether you have a holy weapon.
"I am a holy weapon. I am BigBob's holy weapon."
So unless the system scans every weapon in game checking for the tag "BigBob's holy weapon" then it will never know. And even then, what if it's on someone who's logged out?

If the data is stored on the character, it's more doable.
"BigBob's holy weapon is a xxxxxxx"
Then you wouldn't have to scan anything, you could set up a system where each time a holy weapon is used, it checks to make sure it's the one listed in BigBob's data, and if it isn't, it stops being holy.
"BigBob's holy weapon is an axe of doom, I am a dagger of smiting. I am no longer holy."

I suspect it's the first one, but I have no idea and it even could be something stranger.

A holy weapon can't be held by another person.
You can hold a holy weapon in a container by another person.
The game registers a holy weapon when ever it is held I believe as it can't have spells cast on it.
The quest could be modified by a GM giving the Questor a disc whlie holding a sacrificial weapon. as the new weapon has to be taken to a charge icon to be filled with blessings.
Not trying to argue just perhaps give away for those who lose their weapon a chance to get a new one. But it should have a substantial cost involved to prevent constant lost.

I'm not saying it's not a problem, or that it shouldn't be looked at, I'm just pointing out that it may be a much bigger project than it appears on the surface.

>The quest could be modified by a GM giving the Questor a disc...

I would personally say that any system that is designed to needs manual fixing by a GM is a bad design. Not only do I hope the GMs have better things to do, but they're not always available.

It's fine the weapon the paladin got at 50th circle and that ability is gone forever?
Be glad you don't have the same happen to one of yours.

Any chance you could take the > annotation for quoting people commonly used on the forums? It's more..normal (if such a word can honestly be used on the simuforums) around here. See my quote above for use. Or click 'reply' and then look at the top-right and see the 'formatting tips' button for more.

Note that you only need one > not two as is commonly used.

Holy weapon and alignment 10/05/2012 03:42 AM CDT
I would like to see some future quest or option at least, whereby a Paladins holy weapon can be aligned to a god of there choosing. So that instead of getting Chadatru messages during use they get .. Damaris or Aldauth or whatever there chosen god is. Could be a one time thing or even added to the current system for changing a holy weapon (once a year is that ?) that's in place, and would assist with giving a wider RP range for Paladins. We do not all follow Chadatru that's for sure.

Words Words Words .. in the end thats all it is
