Shatter Bug? 05/25/2013 03:53 PM CDT
I was casting Shatter while hunting and tried casting it on a jackal and go the messaging that it didn't work because the jackal couldn't use a shield:

>cast
You thrust your palm toward a side-striped jackal.
As the side-striped jackal is incapable of using a shield, your spell has no effect.
Roundtime: 2 sec.

Now this is totally understandable. Yet, about a minute later I got the messaging that the spell had worn off the jackal:

>A side-striped jackal flexes its left arm with a sigh of relief.

Did the debuff actually apply to the jackal even though the spell said it had no effect? Just curious what is going on.

From my understanding there is 2 debuffs with that spell.

1) It lowers your shield skill
2) At greater success it makes your shield arm go limp and you drop your shield arm down.

It seems since it does not wear a shield, you cant drop his arm and that's why you got that message(As the side-striped jackal is incapable of using a shield, your spell has no effect). On the other hand you still did lower its shield skill and that was the last message that it wore off (side-striped jackal flexes its left arm with a sigh of relief).

I've changed that cast message a little, so it makes more sense.
