The knife I use for rituals happens to be flagged as a skinning knife, so using app focus on it doesn't work to start boosting thanatology gain. It would be neat/helpful if we could appraise the stuff we make with thanatology to start up an app focus for it. So risen fetishes, harvested materials, a butchered part, etc.
I'd also love a dead critter as an option but I figure that's harder to pull off in general since you're probably in combat at the time, and it might interfere with how backstab's focus works.
