DO Smite with no where near high DO 03/28/2020 11:37 AM CDT
So I just got smote/forsaken when casting CH, with no where near high DO (my spell prep is still my alternate prep:

> cast
You hold out your arms to either side as you prepare to focus mutation through your entire being.
Your cambrinth armband emits a loud snap as it discharges all its power to aid your spell.
You shudder involuntarily as streams of black energy slide back up across your arms from your fingertips before arcing along your entire body.
A brief mixture of pain and euphoria surges through you as whitened ridges rise up from beneath your skin all across your limbs and torso, strengthening your body's ability to absorb damage.
You choose not to heed the admonitory communion, you choose to cast off the binding moral chains, and so the punitive soul fire returns. Despite your determination, you cannot help but feel an enormous loss at being scoured of everything holy and pure in you. All of it ends in but one instant. You are now among the forsaken: fallen from grace, vilified by the universe. However, as the final remnant of the Immortals' favor departs, new voices call to you from beyond. Nameless entities previously hidden in the shadow of divine might are now within your reach -- but so are you within theirs.
The very air crashes down on you with sheer mass, swatting you to the ground and taking away every vestige of motion from your body! In that brief moment where you are being pressed facedown, like a caught beetle, you are somehow made to know that you have drawn the attention of Hodierna.
Then, in obeyance to divine contempt, your body implodes upon itself -- very exquisitely and very excruciatingly.
You manage to clutch onto a long-bladed cinquedea as you gasp your last!
Your eyes briefly darken. When you regain sight, the graphs and sigils previously impressed upon your vision have disappeared.
The air around you shimmers with a weak yellow light that quickly disperses.
The cysts in your eye pop one after another, deflated of their wondrous magic.
Your lesser, Elothean sight returns.
Your body rumbles, sending several short spasms of agony through you, as the ridges encompassing your form recede and vanish.
There's an odd jolting sensation as your mutative magic reverses itself, the unnatural light fading from your eyes as the insight into physiology quickly vanishes.
You sense the obfuscating field around you vanish.
An unpleasant sensation jolts through your body as your mutation fades, leaving you feeling briefly weakened as well as slower.
You feel the knowledge of the Demrris' Resolve spell slip from your mind.
Your death cry echoes in your brain as it quickly dawns on you that you have just died! Already, you feel the tug of eternity upon your soul and you struggle to remain tied to this world.
A chill takes the seat of your soul as your remaining spiritual strength bleeds away. You feel the eyes of the gods upon you, eager to receive you in judgment.
Your body will decay beyond its ability to hold your soul in 101 minutes.

The threshold for becoming forsaken is way lower than the spell prep threshold. The latter is when you're considered visually detectable.

Good to know. I do with these systems were just the slightest bit less opaque with how they're designed to work.
