Why cant we hit a creatures back with DO? any cast at the back just slices apart the chest.

And is anyone able to prep do/tkt/pd, target a creature and cast at a body part, say the head( ie. cast head), any hit something other than the body part you cast at? Or is it supposed to be if you cast at the head, you either hit the head or miss completly, with no middle ground for missing the head and still striking the target in some other body part?

>touch master
You gingerly touch a gaunt shadow master. The only good master is a dead master!

>>The Dinazen Olkar spell creates an edged rope of shadows that attempts to rip body parts away from the target.

From this description I have always assumed that it crated a Lasso, so if you are casting at the back you would have to hit the chest as well.

It's a noose that tries to encircle the target and constrict. Since the upper torso has two valid damage locations, and all hits at the upper torso would inflict damage in the same "area," the spell was designed to favor one over the other.

To anwser your other question you can target a body part and fail to hit that body part while still hitting the targeted creature.
